Next Beer Breakfast is Sat., February 28, 2026

Preparations are in high gear for our next Beer Breakfast Event on the Saturday morning of race weekend at the Mandarin Hide. Tell your friends, tell your buddies and let’s have some fun as we raise a glass to support the Florida West Ballet, a local 501c3 charity that promotes and develops dance and the fine arts for the youth in our area.

Now this is something we can be proud of…. you never know who you’ll meet at a Beer Breakfast Event. I’ve heard stories of folks finding their true love over a frothy beer and a jelly donut over the years.

Has winter got you feeling sick, sluggish and not yourself? Well, guess what will mend you? That’s right….. beer!! So raise a pint to good health and make sure to be ready for the upcoming Beer Breakfast on Saturday, March 23rd.

So many have been asking. So few have forgotten.
I’m happy to announce that in 61 days (give or take, you think I’m going to actually count them?) we will lift our glasses, fill our bellies and enjoy each others company once again for the….. Revelry~Fellowship~Sanctuary that is BEER BREAKFAST!!

Please join us on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 9am to 2pm at The Mandarin Hide in D’town St. Pete and lend your support to the Florida West Ballet, a local non-profit group bringing culture, self pride and appreciation for the arts to young girls and boys in our area!!

Breweries are on the rise all across the USA, but I cannot help but notice my home state of Florida is still far behind many other states in the union.

I think we need to change that and hereby challenge YOU to open a brewery in Florida, preferably in Downtown St. Petersburg and hopefully within walking distance of my house.

It’s been such a whirlwind with a growing family, more than one Beer Breakfast event in a 12-month span and the hopes of more to come that I forgot to spread the good news of our Ale & Witch event that we had on May 26th…… apologies to all.

Considering we only had a few weeks to plan it and the birth of my 3rd child, Evelyn, thrown into the mix I’d say we had a smashing success of 100+ in attendance as we raised in excess of $1,600 for Suncoast Hospice!!

Much appreciation to all those who continue to support the crazy idea of Revelry~Fellowship~Sanctuary that is…. Beer Breakfast!!

Huh? Yes, believe it or not we have former president Jimmy Carter to thank for the rise of craft beer in America. In the pre-Carter days there was little or no access to home brewing supplies, very little knowledge base for do-it-yourselfers to draw from, and far less experimentation with home brewing, making it effectively impossible to gain entry to the beer market for non-corporate brewers.

Carter’s deregulation essentially stripped away all these barriers to entry, making it possible for a number of people who would otherwise not have entered the market to do so. Did deregulation of brewpubs also help lead to the craft beer explosion? Certainly. 90% of craft beers began as home brews. Without Carter’s deregulation, the brewpubs themselves would never have taken off. 90% of the craft brews we now have would never have existed.
